Virginians welcome the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Golf to the State of Virginia providing tournaments and golf camps in c/o America Youth Golf Association a 501© (3) non-profit organization.  AAU/AYGA are dedicated to junior athletes providing competitive venues for young athletes to excel in the sports they participate in, and it remains our goal to propel youth to the next level.  Golf coaches and golf enthusiasts are all invited to participate by volunteering, forming a golf team, and joining in on the fun and excitement.  Let us tee it up Virginians in 2010!

The 2010 Season is designed to maximize all levels of play.  We will be offering team atmosphere, junior golf camps and competitive events.  Golf clinics for AAU members include short and long game development, draw/fade ball instruction, putting, decision making, bio-mechanic drills and nine-hole practice rounds.  (Note:   The AAU and AYGA have been officially acknowledged by the AJGA.)  Via:  points and player of the year thus receiving exemptions to play in AJGA events. The AJGA is one of the largest recruiting bases for colleges in America.  We will be hosting several two-day events recognized by the AJGA where all events are sanctioned.  Exemptions and grants are issued based on performance.  Thus, we will be using a point system to establish a player’s ability and performance level.  The point system is as follows:  Eagle – 20 pts.; Birdies – 10 pts.; Par – 5 pts.; Event Medalist – 20 pts.; Runner Up – 15 pts.; Event Participation – 10 pts; Medlist of other events- 20 pts.  Sportsmenship- 10 pts.

The ranking system that will be used is the junior golf scoreboard.  Scores will be posted with each event.  This will establish your place among many junior golfers within the country.  As an added bonus, all junior members are able to build their profile on this site.  This is free to you and creates some visibility for college scouts to view your achievements.

The 2010 Divisions are:  Division 1 – Boys (15-18); Division 2 – Boys and Girls (12-14); Division 1 – Girls (15-18).  These divisions will have 18 and 36 hole events.  Peewee golf leagues (8-11) will have 9-hole events.  2010 Schedule Events are as follows:  four 18-hole district qualifiers, district championships, 36-hole regionals, and AAU Virginia State Championship.

Golf coaches and enthusiasts can establish a golf team of five junior members to participate in the upcoming events.  Juniors will be scored individually and as a team, best four-scores count.  All coaches must be members of AAU/AYGA by completing a non-athlete application and paying a membership fee.  After officially becoming a member, coaches can submit their team name and team members to the AAU State Golf Director.  Volunteer opportunities include rule officials, tournament directors and youth services for the 2010 Season.

Proceeds from this site will be utilized for youth services including, education and career development.  Tour series members are sponsored for other events based on performance levels using the above point system.  Sponsorship opportunities: There are several sponsorship packages where your company and/or individual donations can support AYGA, a 501©3 non-profit organization.  Your charitable contributions are tax deductible.  Contact ac@uspar72.com
